iPhone SE (2020) 4/15/2020

Apple has announced the long-rumored iPhone SE. It’s got the body of an iPhone 8 and the internals of an iPhone 11, with the A13 chip, a True Tune LCD Retina display, Touch ID, and a single camera lens with Portrait Mode but without Night Mode. Also, just three color options: Black, white, and Product(RED).

So lots of compromises, but at $400 I don’t think anyone in the market for a budget iPhone with a great camera will be disappointed. This should be a phone that can easily last years with that A13 chip, and I suspect a lot of iPhone 6/6S users will be tempted to upgrade. Pre-orders start this Friday, and the phones begin shipping a week later.

Also, I love that pure black iPhone. Reminds me of my beloved Jet Black iPhone 7.
