The Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro reviews are in, and it’s a mixed bag. Build quality is highly praised, but cost and weight force reviewers to compare it to a MacBook Air.
John Gruber at Daring Fireball likes the keyboard, writing “Apple’s portable keyboard game is back.”
Matthew Panzarino at TechCrunch compares it to typing on the Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro and the new 16” MacBook Pro keyboard.
Dieter Bohn at The Verge likes the keyboard and likes the trackpad but doesn’t like the Magic Keyboard, complaining of thickness and weight and a lack of F-keys.
David Phelan at Forbes calls out the price, but concludes, “If you’ve been waiting for a touchscreen MacBook, this might be just the answer.”
MKBHD on YouTube says the Magic Keyboard has “quirks.”
My Magic Keyboard hasn’t arrived yet, but as I’m not competing with the above crowd on views and clicks and ad revenue, I’ll take my time with the iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard and write something in a few weeks.
Update: And here is my review.
